Created and produced during the pandemic this collection of original songs is testament to the experience of quarantine during a pandemic. The variety of musical styles comes through on this EP. The five songs feature original songs and rhythms that allow you to immerse in funky sound scapes and urban beats. AOJ collaborated with several friends and fellow musicians such as Joaquin Venegas, Nathan Rodriguez, Oso Gigante, and 16-Bit Audio on a few tracks.

The word "Batallas" translates to "Battles" in English and during the pandemic many battles were fought to survive a most difficult and challenging time. Batallas is a musical reflection of the past and a projection on the future. Love abounds when creativity and light reign supreme.

AOJ sings vocals in Spanish and English set against a sonic backdrop of instruments and harmonies. As a multi instrumentalist AOJ plays most instruments and offers up personal lyrics and danceable beats. The project was mostly recorded at AOJ's Coco Bolo studios and at various friend's studio spaces. Batallas feature AOJ's most ambitious work. to date.
